When fear takes hold, Isaiah 41:10 is one of the verses Christians turn to most. It is short, but it is full of promises.

The verse

Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will surely help you; I will uphold you with My right hand of righteousness. (Isaiah 41:10, BSB)

The context

In Isaiah 41 God speaks to His people, whom He calls "My servant" and "the one I have chosen" (Isaiah 41:8-9). The nations around them were afraid and turning to idols. God reminds His people that He is the true God, and that they do not need to fear.

Five promises in one verse

  1. I am with you.

  2. I am your God.

  3. I will strengthen you.

  4. I will surely help you.

  5. I will uphold you with My right hand.

Living it out

Name the fear you are carrying right now. Then read this verse out loud, slowly, and put your name into it. Let each promise answer that fear.

A short prayer

Lord, You see what I am afraid of. Thank You that You are with me and that You are my God. Strengthen me, help me and hold me up today. Amen.
